Customizable Mapping of Virtualized Network Services in Multi-datacenter Environments Based on Genetic Metaheuristics

چکیده

One of the major challenges Network Functions Virtualization paradigm is to properly deploy functions and services across network. In particular, current solutions for multi-datacenter service mapping present several restrictions in terms choice optimization models metrics. This lack flexibility ultimately leads sub-optimized mappings that do not meet (often conflicting) requirements all parties involved deployment process (e.g., network operators, clients, providers). work proposes Genetic Service Mapping (GeSeMa), a new intelligent solution based on genetic algorithms. GeSeMa enables flexible configuration evaluation setup, which used generate candidate mappings. The allows specification arbitrary metrics, constraints, different policies. A algorithm processes requests iteratively creates/evolves We evaluate through comprehensive case studies, including comparison with other classic state-of-the-art alternatives.

Datacenter Network Visualization in Multi-Tenant Environments

Outsourcing of computation and storage infrastructure into the cloud entails new challenges for the architecture and design of multi-tenant datacenters. With the evolution of virtualization techniques, tenant applications do not need to be operated on dedicated servers. Software switches hereby play an important role by mediating between physical infrastructure and virtualized applications. In ...

Performance Modeling Based on Artificial Neural Network in Virtualized Environments

Large-scale data centers leverage virtualization technology to achieve excellent resource utilization, scalability and high availability. Although virtualization technology has the advantages such as fault isolation, environmental isolation and security isolation, current virtualization techniques do not have effective performance isolation among virtual machines. The hidden resource competitio...

1 Customizable In-Network Services

Support for innovation is an essential aspect of the next-generation Internet architecture. With the growing diversity of systems connected to the Internet (e.g., cell phones, sensors, etc.) and the adoption of new communication paradigms (e.g., content distribution, peer-to-peer, etc.), it is essential that not only existing data communication protocols are supported but that emerging protocol...

Differentiated I/O services in Virtualized environments

There is a huge semantic gap between file system and storage in servicing an I/O request. In a virtual environment the gap increases even more, as the hypervisor’s I/O scheduler is not aware of the semantics of the I/O request that the application issues. To address this limitation and to retain the semantics of the I/O requests in a virtualized environment, we tag each I/O request from the gue...

Effects of Moving Landmark’s Speed on Multi-Robot Simultaneous Localization and Mapping in Dynamic Environments

Even when simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) solutions have been broadly developed, the vast majority of them relate to a single robot performing measurements in static environments. Researches show that the performance of SLAM algorithms deteriorates under dynamic environments. In this paper, a multi-robot simultaneous localization and mapping (MR-SLAM) system is implemented within a...
